They have to possess strategic thinking and excellent communication skills, and they also have to be able to make a living competing in the sport. As a result, esports is highly concentrated in the young adult and college age demographic. Almost half of esports enthusiasts are men.

The sport is a great way for students to enhance their social skills, and it is a fantastic opportunity for non-athletic students to get involved.

Players can compete against other teams and practice their own strategies to gain a competitive edge. In addition, it offers an opportunity for schools and colleges to build a solid presence on campus. Unlike traditional sports, esports allows for a large audience to attend events. A number of esports tournaments are held in major stadiums, such as the Seattle KeyArena and London Wembley Arena. Some esports tournaments feature hundreds of thousands of dollars in prize money.
