eSports are video games played at a professional level, usually with teams and leagues. Many people consider them to be similar to other sports, but there are a few differences that make them different.

Esports are organized in leagues and competitions, and some have prize pools in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. These tournaments are often held at world-class arenas. eSports have a very fast growth rate, and are becoming more widespread. The industry is expected to reach $1 billion by 2021. eSports has a huge potential for advertisers and partners, and there are many ways to get involved.

The largest eSports competitions are organized around major video games, and they draw millions of viewers and fans from all over the world. Some of the top tournaments have tens of millions of dollars in prizes. Some esports venues are located across the country and around the world, such as the Los Angeles Staples Center and London’s Wembley Arena. These esports venues are sponsored by companies, and the venue is able to reap a significant amount of money.

eSports are played on a variety of platforms, including PCs, smartphones, and laptops. Some games are team based, while others are one-on-one. Players can also play on LAN connections or via streaming platforms. In most cases, participants train daily to compete in events.

eSports players are often contracted to various teams and leagues, and they can earn a considerable sum of money from the companies that sponsor them. They are also often paid a salary for their work. They may also have personal trainers, coaches, and psychologists on their teams. This helps to develop a healthy relationship with gaming, which can help prevent mental health issues.

eSports are not as physically demanding as traditional sports. Players can practice on their own, or they can be trained in-person by physical and mental fitness experts. Most eSports players are between the ages of 21 and 35, and most have full-time jobs. However, some amateur players are not paid, and aim to compete in low-level tournaments to earn a few bucks.

Many esports organisations have multiple teams, and they compete in a variety of different games. Fnatic, for instance, has teams in Dota 2, Overwatch, and League of Legends. Rocket League is another esport, and its esports team uses a third-party platform, FACEIT. Other top esports organisations include Team Liquid and Team SoloMid.

Electronic sports must be arranged in leagues with clear rules, and they must have a large enough player base to attract interest. This requires a lot of logistical work. Spectators can watch matches on a live streaming platform, such as Twitch, or they can travel to a live event to watch the action.

Some companies, such as Faze, have turned their esports clans into content-creating machines. Although they did not appear on the Forbes list in 2018, they have risen to a valuation of $35 million. This has made them very popular, and their clan has gained a following of millions of fans.
